Our rates
At Opal Gas we don’t believe in a one size fits all. Every business is unique and has its own set of requirements. This is why we only ever offer bespoke prices for your business to meet your particular energy needs.
All the prices offered are on a fixed term basis providing you with certainty and stability over a set period. A fixed term contract allows you to protect yourself against the ever-moving and often volatile gas market.

Deemed rates
Deemed rates will apply if you take over the responsibility of a new property. You will enter into an agreement with the current registered supplier of that property. This means that the supplier is obliged to provide gas and, in turn, you are required to pay for the gas at the supplier's published rates (until such time that a new contract has been negotiated). This is known as 'deemed' rates.
The deemed rates may be reviewed & updated on a monthly basis.

If a meter is not read on the date you take responsibility for the site then Opal reserves the right to estimate your opening reading based on industry data.

Out of Contract rates
Out of contract rates are applied when the gas contract between the customer and Opal Gas expires. The out of contract rate will be charged from when the contract expires up to the point the customer agrees a new contract with us or moves to another supplier.
The out of contract rate is reviewed monthly and the current out of contract rates that would be applied are detailed below. The default out of contract rate tends to be more expensive than contracted rates, so we would recommend moving onto a contracted rate.

If you give notice that you do not wish to renew your contract with Opal, and you do not have a new agreement in place, we may charge at the standard ‘out of contract rates’ until a new contract is put into place or you switch to another supplier.
